“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.” (John 6:47)
You come into possession of the unending life of God when you get born again. It is the present moment reality after you declare Jesus to be the Lord of your life. This life is exactly as God has it and it is interminable, except at your instance. This means you have no life span. This is what Jesus meant when He said, “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.” (John 10:17-18). In other words, you too can choose to go and be with the Lord or keep on living for as long as you want to keep stacking laurels in the kingdom of God.
Hear me, nothing should determine your longevity other than the divine course of God for you and even if you finish your course, you can ask for an additional one. In Philippians 1:21-21, Paul states, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if Ilive on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell.” Notice, Paul says, “But if I live on in the flesh…” meaning the believer can choose to live on in the flesh and no outside force can truncate the life of God in him or her.
One time a poisonous viper latched onto Paul’s arms and bit him. The Bible says, “But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand. So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.” But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm” (Acts 28:3-5). In the same vein, nothing can terminate your life except you consent.
In John 11:25-26, Jesus makes the most remarkable statement about the one that believes in Him and possesses the life of God. He says, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
Just so you know without a doubt this life that is in you, 1 John 5:11-13 says, “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
The life you have from the Lord is equivalent to the life that a newborn baby shares with its parents. Just as that baby is as human as its parents, you are as divine as God Almighty. Now, go about your day reminding yourself that you have the everlasting life of God in you.
Have a splendid day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I have the invincible, unending life of God in me. As Jesus is, so am I in this world. I do not die. I cannot die. Rather, I live in the liberty into which Christ has ushered me. Hallelujah!
