You are the Called to Inherit a Blessing

Grace Daily Devotional

1/30/2025

“Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.” (1 Peter 3:8-9)

You are called to inherit a blessing. Settle this truth in your heart. No one or force anywhere can alter this call of God on your life. But sometimes, based on the information you have, this blessing to which God has called you can be a probability and not an absolute certainty.

In Hosea 4:6, God says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.” The blessing should not be a probability to you, but as long as it is, you will experience defeat and degradation.

One time, there was a woman that was bent double that Jesus healed and He said, “So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” (Luke 13:16). Though she had been called to freedom, Satan held her bound for as long as possible because she didn’t know and there was no outside intervention. This is the same for many believers. So what is this blessing that you have been called to inherit and how do I actively enjoy the blessing? Ephesians 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,”

The presence of the Holy Spirit in you is the source of all these blessing. Think about it for a second—Isn't it just like God to bless you with a source or seed, rather than the thing alone? When Ishmael prayed to God for water, God showed his mother a well (see Genesis 21:19). Through thanksgiving, Jesus fed five thousand people minus women and children with a little boy’s lunch (see Matthew 14:13-21). In the same way, God deposited the seed of every spiritual blessing inside you by putting the blesser in your heart. 1 Corinthians 3:16 says, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”

The same Spirit by which God created the whole world—the wealth, beauty and excellence of it all—is whom He has blessed you with. So, what can stand against you successfully? This is why it says in 1 John 4:4, “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

The One in you is the blessing that you have been called to inherit. And you have Him so that you can regulate the foundations, the happenings and the course of life on earth until you are raptured. Now, the fact that you have not fully understood the blessing and its responsibilities makes no difference. Satan will run a rampage around you and even in your life until you grasp the blessing.

Colossians 1:26-27 clearly states it again, this time, using the word Christ for the Holy Spirit. It says, “the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Say this with me, Christ abides in me as my guarantee of glory. I will never be defeated. The victory is mine, says the Lord and so it is. Hallelujah!

Praise the Lord. It’s your Day of the Blessing. Glory!!!

Faith-Filled Confession

I have been ordained to enjoy the blessing. I take full advantage of the Holy Spirit living in me to make an indelible mark on this year. I make progress and beat back every opposition to the will of God for me because I am more than a conqueror. Hallelujah!

Prayer Point

Proverbs 29:2 – When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

2 Timothy 3:8-9 – Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their’s also was.

1. Pray against men or institutions who set themselves to foster Anti Christ agenda that are design to hinder the spread of the gospel, we declare that such forces proceed no further, and the efforts made are futile.

2. Pray for continued peace and prosperity in this nation, that fosters the spread and impact of  the gospel in all geopolitical zones, in all sectors of this country and in all strata of  society.

3. We pray for increase in gospel activities in our cities through our multifaceted ministry departments; we declare that evil is completely overturned, as sinners pour through these and many other avenues into the Kingdom of God.
