“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3)
The heavenly places in Christ in Ephesians 1:3 might give you the idea that there are many places where this spiritual blessing might be found. But the heavenly places the Bible talks about in this verse is inside you. Hear me, there is heaven in you. And I would like you to say it right now. Say, “there's heaven in me.” Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He [God the Father] has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.”
Now, while no human person could find out the work that God has done from beginning to end before Jesus came, after the resurrection and the subsequent emergence of you and I, as members together with Christ, we received the Holy Spirit who granted us the capability to search out the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 says, “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.” There is absolutely nothing that cannot be revealed to you if you engage the Spirit of God in you.
1 Corinthians 2:11-12 says, “For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” This is what the Lord means by every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. The Holy Spirit, the chief blesser has taken up residence in you such that everything you would ever need, engage with or create would be based on how proficient you become with communing with the Holy Ghost.
Paul writes that this is “the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints… which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:26-27).
This is why you are the fulfilment of God’s promise to our ancestor in Christ, Abraham in Genesis 12:1-2; “Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.”
You see, to bless, means to improve by invocation, and to be a blessing means to be one invokes improvement. Jesus said of you, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38). Rivers of living waters are invocations of improvement. Everything improves when you open your mouth because you house the Holy Spirit, the chief blesser.
The final clincher is in 2 Peter 4:11 which says, “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” This means that when you open your mouth, only rivers of living waters should flow.
Understand that you are the first and the best of all of God’s creatures and only things befitting the first and the best should come out of you.
Have a splendid day.
Faith-Filled Confession
I am blessed to be a blessing because God lives in me. I am His vessel to uphold and improve the world around me and I take ownership of who I am in Christ Jesus, to be all that God anointed and ordained for me to be. Hallelujah!
