“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”(John 11:25-26)
The life of God in you makes you immortal. In John 6:4, Jesus says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. The word translated “everlasting life” actually means, never-ending life of God. Wait a second, if the life of God that you have received is not supposed to end, why then do Christians die? Now, Christians don’t actually die. The Bible describes this occurrence as “falling asleep.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13 says, “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.” This means that for those Christians that we consider to have died, the Bible says, they have fallen asleep. So back to the question, why do Christians fall asleep?
One instrument and two reasons. But I will start with the reasons. The first reason Christians fall asleep is saying the wrong things. Proverbs 6:2 says, “You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth.” 1 Peter 3:10 says,“...He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.” The second reason is mistreating others, especially, Christians by not discerning them as the Body of Christ. Yes, the Bible talks about not abusing the communion because it is a representation of the Body of Christ but the Christian is the Body of Christ, which is why you can incur judgement of death if you mistreat another believer. 1 Corinthians 11:30 says, “For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.”
The instrument that Christians use to produce death is their tongue. But it can also be used to allow immortality. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” The Christian who does not know how to use the tongue will use it unto death. However, the Bible declares that there is an operation of the tongue that can sponsor immortality and the Bible calls it a concept of “putting on,” which means, to bring into operation by confession . In other words, when you see the phrase, “Put on” in the New Testament, it means to bring into operation by confession. For example, when in Ephesians 6:11, the Bible says, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,” what it means is that you bring into operation the defense system of God through confession.
That said, 1 Corinthians 15:54 says,”So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” In other words, in the timeline of the Church’s existence, a time will come when the operation of immortality will be set in motion by confession and many of you will understand what Jesus meant when He said, “And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”(John 11:26).
You are immortal and until you begin to release this operation into being by confessing that you live perpetually to do the business of your Father, and treat people well, the immortality that was designed into the life that you now live, as a born-again Child of God, will not take effect.
So, confess that because you believe in Jesus Christ, you will never die and then, practice treating others, no matter how lowly, as though they are the Lord Jesus. Matthew 25:40 says, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it toMe.”
Your immortality is now.
Have a great day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I believe in Jesus Christ. Therefore, I have the never-ending life of God. I can choose to live for as long as I want because my life in Christ is subject to no outside force. I live beyond the limitations of mortality and corruption because the One that lives in me is greater than any force that obtains in this world. Hallelujah!
PRAYER DIRECTION
1 Timothy 2:1-2 (AMP)
First of all, then I urge that petitions (specific requests), prayers, intercessions (prayers for others) and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in (positions of) high authority, so that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
1. Pray and Declare that there is a strong mobilization of angels all over our city, frustrating and destroying the plans of individuals, organizations within and outside our city, whose aim is to influence and pressure our government to make wicked decisions to the detriment of our city and the spread of the gospel.
2. Declare that their influence is cut off, all their evil plans and strategies come to nothing and all their investments in evil are wasted.
3. Pray that the brethren are stirred up (unashamed and unafraid) for soul winning all the time. Declare that the light of the glorious gospel on their lips shines brighter and prevail in the nations, resulting in harvest of souls.
