You are God’s Temple

Grace Daily Devotional

1/21/2025

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

The Christian is the temple of God and ought to know it with certainty. You carry the Holy Spirit in you and ought to be His vessel of expression to the world around you. For instance, Samson knew that the Holy Spirit came upon to execute certain things He wanted done for the preservation of the children of Israel. In the execution of his role as a judge of Israel, Samson understood two things. First, he understood that the infrastructure through which the Spirit of God came upon him and did mighty things was in his hair. Judges 16:17 NLT says, “Finally, Samson shared his secret with her. “My hair has never been cut,” he confessed, “for I was dedicated to God as a Nazirite from birth. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as anyone else.”

Second, Samson knew how to summon the power of God anytime he needed to use it. After he had told Delilah about his hair and she had shaved it, the Bible says, “And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him (Judges 16:20 KJV). Now, many other translations of this verse, say, “shake myself free” but that’s not how the Hebrew puts it. Each time Samson needed to take advantage of the Spirit of God’s might, he would shake himself. After his hair was cut, he tried to shake himself as he did at other times before and it didn’t work. The point is, Samson knew there was power in his hair and he knew how to activate the power.

Now, that same Spirit that would come upon Samson when he shook himself, lives in you but do you know how to activate His power on your behalf? When trouble arrives and you need to draw on the resident within, what do you do? “ Ephesians 5:18-20 says, “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ…”

In other  words, you practice the presence of God by making confessions and singing in tongues, punctuating it ever so gently with thanks to God the Father in the name of the Lord Jesus. After a while, the Spirit would overtake your words and before long, His power would be unleashed.

Just the way Samson would shake himself, you, as the temple of God, ought to use psalms (confessions), spiritual songs and thanksgiving to the Father to unleash God’s power on anything.

Go ahead and do it now.

Have an excellent day.

Faith-Filled Confession

I am the Temple of the Lord, set up to release the words of God, songs of the Spirit and thanksgiving. I have no communion with idols. Rather, as I minister to the Lord,  streams of power flow forth, causing changes to the things to which I apply the power. I am God’s wonder on earth, a site of His beauty. Hallelujah!

PRAYER DIRECTION

Pray for the prosperity of Pastors.

Colossians 4:2-4 says, ”Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak”.

1 Corinthians 2:4-5: ”And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God”.

  1. Pray that new doors of opportunity for ministry be opened to them, and utterance be granted them to proclaim the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ unhindered, without fear or reproach, but in power and effectiveness.

Pray For Ministers that are sick and afflicted.

Matthew 10:7-8 says, ‘And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give’.

2. Pray for ministers that are sick and hurting around the world; that more grace be granted them for speedy and supernatural recoveries from their afflictions and pains. That God’s Spirit will turn their troubles into testimonies. In Jesus name.

Pray For Pastors in Syria and Lebanon

3. Pray for ministers who are facing severe persecutions in Syria, Iraq, Iran and Lebanon, that they be strengthened to stand firm in all the will of God; and pray for the deliverance of those imprisoned for their faith in Christ Jesus.
