“For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.” (2 Corinthians 13:8)
A kindling illustration that comes to mind is the story of Jairus and his sick daughter. That story often depicts the trajectory of the Christian life in that nothing can successfully contend against the truth in your life. The Bible says, “And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His [Jesus’] feet and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live” (Mark 5:22-23)
Jairus did what any believer would do in that situation. He set a godly intention. He went to Master and was specific about what he wanted. Now, we know that Jairus turned to Jesus as his last resort. How do we know this? Jairus said to Jesus, “...Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live” (Mark 5:23), meaning the little girl was on the brink of dying.
Maybe, you too, have set an intention for a miracle, and before you go further, you have been wondering if your intention is in line with the will of God. Hear me, it is. Romans 8:32 says, “He [God] who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” If God gave you Jesus, He has given you everything. This is the truth. 1 Corinthians 3:21 says, “Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours…” Now, if this is the truth, your job is to take possession through your most holy faith and not let anyone or anything distract you. Jude 20 says, “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.”
So, when Jairus’ servant came with a testimony other than the intention he set. The Bible says, “While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe” (Mark 5:35-36).
Maybe you have heard contrary news while you have been praying in tongues to get to your most holy faith. Maybe it has taken several days that you have been praying to get to your most holy faith. Do not stop now. Stay on that one intention and pray it through no matter how long it takes you. The Bible says that Elijah went to Mount Carmel and buckled his knees and kept praying until at the seventh time of checking, he got a note of victory. (see 1 Kings 18:43-44).
Even the Lord Jesus had to get a note of victory at Gethsemane. In Mark 14:32-33, the Bible says of Jesus and His disciples, “Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed.” But the Lord didn’t get the note of victory that first time. How do we know this? In Mark 14:39, the Bible says, “Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words.” Again, Jesus did not get the note of victory until He went the third time. In Mark 14:41, the Bible says, “Then He came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough! The hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.” Notice, Jesus spoke the verdict of His praying that it was His time to be betrayed.
In the same way, you have to pray through to your most holy faith without let up so that the truth becomes apparent. What is that matter that would move the needle for you this year; that would help you accomplish the most for God? Yes! That giant and seemingly impossible task. What is it? It’s time to give it your attention through the Holy Spirit. Let nothing take your eyes off of it as you pray through to your most holy faith and begin to announce the truth about it. As the Bible says, ““For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.” (2 Corinthians 13:8).
Have a glorious day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I take advantage of the grace that is in Christ Jesus. As I build up my most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, I receive verdicts which I also prophesy causing my victory to be apparent to all. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Prayer Direction
Intercede for our brethren that are facing various trials in all our churches, that they remain unshakeable, unshaken, always abounding in the work of the Lord. Declare that they will continue to shine as light in the midst of the darkness in the world. (1 Cor 15:58, Philippians 2:13-14; Heb 6:10)
Pray for those who have been inconsistent in their faith; that they be no longer children tossed to and fro and that Christ may be formed in their hearts as they are strengthened in those things that are most surely believed among us. (Lk 1:3, Eph 4:14)
