"It is written: "I believed; therefore, I have spoken." Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak" (2 Corinthians 4:13 NIV).
As Christians, our lives ought to be guided by the Word of God. When we rejoice in the face of adversity, it may not make sense to those in the flesh, but we do so with an understanding of God's Word. We rejoice because adverse circumstances are opportunities to put our faith to work. Think about it; how else would the people of the world know that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, if we are never presented with opportunities to display the miraculous working power of God?
Child of God, you are not of them that flee in the face of adversity. You do not retreat! You are born again! Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. You belong to the family of victors headed by Jesus. Your spiritual progenitors called adversity bread and spoke boldly in the Lord. They casted out devils, healed the sick, and raised the dead. Hebrews 11:33-34 (AMPC) gives a description of how they "…subdued kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promised blessings, closed the mouths of lions, extinguished the power of raging fire, escaped the devouring of the sword, out of frailty and weakness won strength and became stalwart, even mighty and resistless in battle, routing alien hosts." You must understand that the person that you see each time you look in the mirror is not a weakling or a failure. You are a victor! Inside you lies the power that created the heavens and the earth. Don't talk yourself away from any opportunity to move to a higher level. Don't allow the testimony of others about any given situation change the truth that you already have the victory.
Live independent of circumstances and let the Word be your driving force. If the Word says, "Consider it pure joy…whenever you face trials of many kinds" (James 1:2 NIV), then count it all joy! Don't ask, "how can I?" Rejoice, because you can! You are more than a conqueror! Remember that God will never ask you to do anything that He has not equipped you to do. Think of it this way; picture a five-year-old demanding a wrestling contest from a professional boxer. Not only is this laughable, but it's also not worth taking seriously. This ought to be your mindset as you go out today. Regardless of the challenge out there, it is no match for the firepower of the Holy Ghost that's inside you. So, go about your day with a smile on your face. Laugh and rejoice like one who has just won the lottery. Get excited about your life! There is more to you than meets the eye. At the end of the day, what really matters is the reign of Christ through you. Make it count!
Faith-Filled Confession:
I rejoice in the Lord; I rejoice at His Word. The joy of the Lord is my strength. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I am victorious in Christ; triumphant on every count; more than a conqueror; advancing by the power of the Holy Ghost. I have no sad or down days. My life is from glory to glory. I am unstoppable by any human or demonic force. Hallelujah!
