"And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” (2 Corinthians 6:17-18)
The believer in Christ Jesus has the life of God. 1 John 5:12-13 AMPC says, "And this is that testimony (that evidence): God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who possesses the Son has that life; he who does not possess the Son of God does not have that life." The word, "possesses" in the text means, "believes in." And we know this from John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." The one who believes in Jesus possesses and this one has eternal life.
Now, when you were born again, you became a home for the Spirit of God, retrofitted with the same life that makes God, God. You became God's temple and the import of this is simple, you are holy. Anywhere God puts His presence is holy. If you look throughout the scriptures, everything God touched was referred to as holy. Moses went up Mount Horeb and it was called the mountain of God (in Exodus 3:1). Jesus went up a mountain with three of His disciples (in Matthew 17:1) and Peter called that mountain holy (in 2 Peter 1:18). God's Spirit lives in you and now you live a life that is consecrated to God. Hebrews 3:1 says, "Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus," Your consecrated life requires that you be conscious of the faithfulness of Jesus as your Apostle and High Priest and as your example of who the matured Son of God ought to be.
In other words, yes you have been designated as holy because of the presence of God in you but you've got to live out this holiness towards others. How you do this is to consider Jesus who took this path that you are now taking by yielding yourself completely to the instructions of the Holy Spirit. "Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness" (Hebrews 3:7-8)
When the Bible says, "...but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:15-16), what it means is that keep your heart yielded to God's voice. Your life of consecration is lived by yielding to the voice of God in your heart and doing exactly what He tells you to do.
What is God saying to you that you are struggling to execute? It's time to copy the yieldedness of Jesus. Phillipians 2:8 says, "And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross."
This life you have in Christ is lived by continuing obedience to the voice of God. It is His voice that makes your consecration apparent to all. When Jesus said, “...It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God ” (Matthew 4:4), He was showing you how to live the life of consecration as He did.
Today is the day you take God at the words that He has spoken in your heart and yield to Him. Whatever He has instructed you to do, delay no more. Don't ask if this word is for you or not. Don't analyze whether it is the right time or not. Don't consider any limitations, deception or distractions. Get it done.
Have a great day.
Faith-Filled Confession
As the Father has life in Himself, so has He given to me to have His life in me. I have the life of God in me now. Therefore, I have overcome the world and its distractions. I have overcome the world and its deception. I have overcome the world with its traps and snares. I am who God says I am. I have what God says I have. And I can do what God says I can do. Hallelujah!
