“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God” (Mark 10:27).
Do not allow anyone to tell you that such and such cannot be done. Just because it has not been done in the past, does not mean that it cannot be done. That man has no cure for a disease, is no reason to negate your faith, unless your faith was in man in the first place. Child of God, there is no sickness under heaven that is beyond the power of God. Sometimes you hear certain folks present a situation as impossible. You hear them say things like, “I hope God heals me of this illness, because it affects less than one percent of the world’s population, and the doctor has said it has no cure.” But Jesus said, “…With man it is impossible, but not with God…” (Mark 10:27). So the issue of impossibility is not with God but with man. God has already made His will about doing the impossible known to us. Hence, the question should not be whether or not God wants to. God’s will is for you to have the best and for you to live free of sickness, lack, and anything that contradicts the finished work of Christ.
A fellow once said, “If it’s God’s will for me to be healed, I will be healed.” This suggests that God cherry-picks who gets healed and who doesn’t. God’s will concerning you was not only revealed in the person of Jesus but was also done when Jesus was raised from the dead. All that God needed to do about you was accomplished in Jesus Christ. This means that everything you could ever ask of, or think of, that’s necessary to live the abundant life, has already been supplied to you in the person of Jesus. So, YES! It has and will always be God’s will for you to live in divine health. And if you continue to experience challenges in your health, it’s not because God doesn’t want to heal you. It’s because you are unable to see yourself in the light of the finished work of Jesus.
In Mark 9:21-23, Jesus had an encounter with a man whose child was tormented by the devil. Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?” and the father replied, “From childhood, it has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” Notice what the boy’s father said to Jesus: “If you can do anything.” In other words, “if you are willing.” Many would have expected Jesus to say, “Sure, I can.” Amazingly, Jesus did not respond that way. Instead, He said to the boy’s father, ”If you can believe.” In essence, Jesus was saying, “It’s no longer a question of if I can, the question is can you believe the impossible?” Because God is able and willing to do the impossible, but can you believe for the impossible? In Mark 9:23, Jesus went on to say, “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
So it’s a matter of can you believe the impossible? Will you make a conscious decision to look away from whatever it is that looks impossible and dwell on Jesus’ words in Mark 9:23. In the natural, you may look like you will never make it. Maybe you have squandered every opportunity that you have been given. Maybe you are even reading this devotional from a death row or serving a life sentence. Or maybe the doctors have unanimously said that you have less than a thirty percent chance of survival. But pause a minute and ask yourself, “What is God saying?” And I know God has said “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God” (Mark 10:27). If you do believe, then you must confess the desired outcome. Your expectations come to pass when you not only believe but also confess what you believe.
God Bless You!
Faith Filled Confession:
Nothing is impossible with my God. My faith is in the ability of God to do that which man has called impossible. It does not matter what I face, my faith in Jesus Christ is my victory. Hallelujah!
