And the LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.” (Exodus 14:15)
Sometimes, certain believers get stuck in a loop of praying without taking the daring step toward change. Yes, Luke 18:1 tells us that “…that men always ought to pray and not lose heart” but the actions required to bring about a miracle are a different function altogether and often, what is lacking in some believers.
Prayer is a judicial function. You procure judgements through prayer. Prophecy is a legislative function. You prophesy in order to make laws in the spirit. Acting on the basis of prayer or prophecy is an executive function that brings about a desired change.
In Exodus 14:10, we find that Moses and the children of Israel are saddled with an impossible situation. The Bible says, “And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the LORD.” They were hemmed in between the most sophisticated fighting force of that day and the Sea. It made logical sense that the people would become afraid.
Yet the Bible says, Moses began to prophesy. “But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will perform for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again, ever. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:13-14).
But prophecy wasn’t what was required in that moment, action was. The Amplified version of Exodus 14:15 says, “The LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to move forward [toward the sea].” In other words, it is time to do the impossible.
For many who may be waiting for some miracle to happen concerning the things you have been praying to God about, He is saying, “…See, I have placed before you an open door, which no one can shut” (Revelation 3:8). You don’t look at open doors, you move forward through them.
There is an open door for you in the areas of your life that you have been asking God for an intervention. This season is not only for prayer and prophecy. It’s a time for action.
Begin to do the things you could not do before. Email those ‘big’ people and demand your promotion or ask for their business. Pick up the phone and call those clients because they are ready to close on that deal. Go to that teacher and ask for the help you have been looking for with your school work.
Hear me, for you, there is an opened door that no one can shut. Move forward. Take your advantage and have a victorious day.
God bless you!
