“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” (1 Corinthians 13:6 NIV)
Have you ever seen those people who are excited when things go awry? They are almost always the ones that bear tales and gossip about others. They are exactly who a Christian should not be. Why? The Bible says, “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth” (1 Corinthians 13:6 NIV). And here is where I want you to pay attention. Evil and truth are diametrically opposed to each other. The person who rejoices with the truth cannot at the same time, rejoice in evil.
What is the truth? The truth is that statement from God that brings you into harmony with God in love. It is the point where any demarcation between you and the Lord vanishes. For example, the truth about every believer in Christ, is that they are exactly as Jesus is, right at this moment. 1 John 4:17 says, “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.”
So, if a brother or sister is Jesus in truth, why are you going to say something about them that is not the truth, even though their actions may justify it? Remember that the truth and evil are opposites. And in Titus 3:2, the Bible says “to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.”
It means that you can only speak and rejoice in the truth about your spiritual siblings. Maybe a sister was afflicted by a condition, your job is not to go about reporting the affliction in any shape or form. Rather, you can start to rejoice with the truth concerning that sister that says, by the stripes of Jesus, she was healed (1 Peter 2:24).
I will show you a mystery. Remember that to God the Father, you are Jesus. Now, rejoice with Acts 10:38 because it’s the truth about you and that sister who may be showing symptoms. The Bible says, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Who is Jesus to God today? You are. So, the way to rejoice in the truth is to say Act 10:38 aloud until the anointing overtakes you from within.
Hear me, evil cannot stand in the presence of truth. As you rejoice with the truth, the contrary situation will have to leave. The Bible says, “...the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”
This is the reason the enemy would rather you gossipped or spoke out of turn concerning another believer because you won’t be rejoicing with the truth concerning that believer. Make up your mind today to be radical about seeing Jesus in every believer no matter the level of their growth.
Have an excellent day
