"The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein" (Psalm 24:1).
When individuals are left unchecked, they often find themselves in troublesome situations. When you're responsible for such individuals, it's crucial to keep them under your watchful gaze.
Similarly, the Bible advises us on how to deal with the adversary. 1 Peter 5:8 states, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." When left unsupervised, the devil seeks to entice us into operating in the flesh. One way he achieves this is by luring us into speaking words that contradict God's Word. Ephesians 4:26-27 (BSB) admonishes, "Be angry, yet do not sin. Do not let the sun set upon your anger, and do not give the devil a foothold."
We give the devil a foothold when we speak contradictory words or fail to speak when we ought to. Therefore, God calls us to exercise mastery over our lives by having mastery over our tongues. This is where self-control truly begins.
Today's theme scripture highlights who is truly in charge of the Earth—the LORD. When the Bible refers to Satan as the "god of this world" in 2 Corinthians 4:4, it's only in reference to his lordship over human beings whom he holds captive within the world system—a system founded in the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
Yet, we are not subject to the world's system because we have been called out from under it. Colossians 1:13 NASB declares, "For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son." Today, we live in the greater kingdom, with greater power and authority, having lordship over the domains of darkness. And because we belong to a greater kingdom, we must restrain the enemy, his activities, and his ability to cause havoc on the Earth.
One way to do this is by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and relentlessly declaring God's Word. So be bold to share the gospel and to declare God's Word over your affairs. Declare that you are healed even when you have no symptoms of any disease. Keep the enemy in check with your words, give him no foothold; prevent him from running amock in your life, family, and community.
The Earth is the Lord's and you are is mouthpiece in the Earth.

Faith-filled Confession
I am God's mouthpiece in the earth, bringing about His will. By the Word of God, I exercise dominion over all forms of adversity while charting my course along the paths of righteousness. I reign as a king in this life in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
