“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).
Folks who worry are always worried, and for the most part, they have a way of getting everyone around them to follow suit. Child of God, there is absolutely no reason under heaven to live under the cloud of worry. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” Then James 1:2 says this: ”My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials.” In other words, adverse circumstances are indicators of joy. So, rejoice when you are faced with adverse circumstances, and when you hear about other Christians facing adverse circumstances, don’t feel sorry for them. Adverse circumstances are designed to elevate us and move us towards purpose and destiny.
Worrying will never make things better. I tell people, I don’t know enough to be worried because I believe that God is more zealous about my health, success, and safety than I could ever be. So, if I ever feel overwhelmed by any situation, I just cast my care on Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.” When I cast my concerns on Him, I don’t pick them back up to reminisce over them. No! A thousand times NO! I often would say, “I trust God with this.” In other words, God, this one is on you. Hallelujah! Then I begin to praise Him. Hallelujah!
No man has ever made significant progress in life by worrying about what people say or by how things will turn out. Jesus said, “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think He’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do His best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way He works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how He works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met” (Matthew 6:30-33 MSG). Hallelujah! Saints, step away from “I don’t know how we are going to pay rent” to my God has supplied all of my needs according to His riches in glory. Praise God!
What I am saying to you today? Trust the Word! It does not fail! The Word got you saved and there is nothing in this world that God has not subjected to the Word. Refuse to be bothered by the transient circumstances that contradict the Word. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
So be at peace with yourself. Your faith is working. You didn’t come this far on your own. The grace of God that brought you this far has no intention of leaving you broke, sick, and alone. Trust in God and everything will turn out to your advantage.
God bless you!
Faith-Filled Confession:
I will trust in God with all my heart. I refuse to lean on human understanding. In all my ways, I choose to acknowledge Him and He will direct my path (Proverbs 3:5-6).
