COMPEL IT TO BE SO

Grace Daily Devotional

11/19/2024

"From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it" (Matthew 11:12).

It is impossible to meditate on God's Word and walk in the dark at the same time. John put it this way: "If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth."  That is to say that God's Word in you is guaranteed to produce results in your life. I like to say that the Word will make you a champ in everything. It will cause you to subdue darkness, nations, and kingdoms. Jesus said in John 8:12, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life." Now that you are born again, not only do you have the light of life, but you are the light of the world. It means that you can no longer be subdued by darkness.

The Scriptures are full of ordinary people who God's Word made champions. These men and women were otherwise headed for gloom and doom.  Take Paul, the apostle, for example; the Word turned him into a world changer. Joseph is another example. Many of these men and women of old were not even born again. But they got a hold of God's Word, and their lives were changed forever! If it could happen for people who did not have the indwelling presence of God, imagine what is possible with you.  I'll tell you this; eyes have not seen, and ears have not heard what God is capable of doing with your life. Romans 8:32 put it this way, "He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?" If God gave you His all without hesitation, what else would He hold back from you? The answer is NOTHING.  He said through the prophet Isaiah, "Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life" (Isaiah 43:3).

You will often hear me say this--know God's Word for yourself and saturate your atmosphere with it. Ecclesiastes 11:3 says, "If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be." In other words, there is a sack of cloud over you that's filled with all of Heaven; however, to access its contents, you must puncture it with your confession of God's Word.

I say this to you by the Holy Ghost, don't ever leave your house without bathing yourself in the Word. The atmosphere in some quarters can nullify your faith in the Word if you don't push back. The time to make it rain is now. Look at what God has said and done for you and be audacious enough to demand that they be so in your life today in Jesus' name!

Faith-Filled Confession:

This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him. He has rescued me from every trap and protects me from every disease. His faithful promises are my armor and protection. Therefore, I am shielded from the evil of the day, and in the name of Jesus, I preserve all that are within my sphere of contact. Amen.

Prayer Direction

Luke 22:31-32

Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

Pray that God’s people will live victorious over every temptation and trail that will come that way today. Pray that they will not succumb to the pressure of this world to compromise on their faith. Declare that the plan of the enemy against them will not prosper in Jesus name.

Luke 9:62 TLB

But Jesus told him, “Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”

Pray against anything that will distract the brethren from fulfilling their God given mandate.

Ephesians 3:16

May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].

Pray that they will be strengthen and inspired in their devotion to the guidance and instruction of the Holy Spirit.
