"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth" (Psalm 46:10).
Have you ever been in a situation that was beyond daunting, only for you to pray for God's intervention and hear Him say, "BE STILL?" In such times, "be still" is probably not what you hope to hear. Yet, you must understand that when you pray, whatever God tells you is your miracle, whether or not it makes sense at that moment. His Word to you is your victory over that situation.
Being still is not a state of passivity. On the contrary, it is the time where you affirm God's Word with thanksgiving and praise. Better still, it's the time to be voracious in speaking faith-filled words. In Psalm 46:1-3, David declared, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof." In other words, no matter what we see, hear, or feel, we refuse to fear or be moved! And will hold firm to our confession of strength and victory. That is what being STILL means.
Remember the account of Moses before the Red Sea. The Bible tells us that when the children of Israel lifted their eyes, "...behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and cried out unto the Lord. And they said unto Moses, because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? Wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness" (Exodus 14:10-13). What a confession! This is what happens when fear gains mastery over people. It causes them to lose their grip on the eternal Word of God. But thank God for the man of God Moses, he spoke up and said:
"...Fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace" (Exodus 14:14). Hallelujah!
Hear me, child of God; it makes no difference what is before you today. It will bow to the God in you. You may look outnumbered, but be still. Be undaunted and listen for God's voice. With the Word that He echoes in your spirit, you can effect the desired change. So cheer up and BE STILL.
Faith-Filled Confession:
The Word of God is superior to every challenge that is before me. God's Word never fails. God's Word is working in my life, in my home, and all my affairs. God's Word is magnified in me. Hallelujah!
