“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts…” (2 Peter 1:19 KJV)
The reason why the Holy Spirit lives in you is to give you victory in this world. 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 says, Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” In other words, the Holy Spirit lives in us to bring us into intimate knowledge of the things that God has freely made available to us as His kids.
How the Holy Spirit accomplishes this task is by teaching us the exact words to speak. This word is what Peter refers to as ‘a more sure word of prophecy.’ 2 Peter 1:19 says, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts…”
This ‘more sure word of prophecy’ is what many, in certain Christian circles, have called, ‘the note of victory.” It is that statement from God that produces the people, circumstances, activities, materials and context in conformity with the statement.
Now, there are two ways to get the note of victory but our focus today is on getting the note of victory through the Holy Spirit. In the Amplified version of Jude 20, the Bible says, “But you, beloved, build yourselves up on [the foundation of] your most holy faith [continually progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], pray in the Holy Spirit.” In essence, as it concerns a particular issue, you pray your way to the note of victory and until you get the note of victory, you don’t stop.
This was what Paul meant in 1 Corinthians 14:14-15: “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.” The implication here is that you pray or sing in tongues until understandable words start to come from your spirit about the situation.
Now, a clear illustration of the note of victory and how to procure it was clearly illustrated in the interaction that Elijah had with Ahab at the end of a three-year drought. From 1 Kings 18:41-44, the Bible says, “Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.” Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’ ”
That cloud rising out of the sea is akin to what Peter called the day star arising in your heart. This is the note of victory that you must focus on getting in every challenge that you are confronted by.
Have a great day

Prayer Direction
Intercede for our brethren that are facing various trials in all our churches, that they remain unshakeable, unshaken, always abounding in the work of the Lord. Declare that they will continue to shine as light in the midst of the darkness in the world. (1 Cor 15:58, Philippians 2:13-14; Heb 6:10)
Pray for those who have been inconsistent in their faith; that they be no longer children tossed to and fro and that Christ may be formed in their hearts as they are strengthened in those things that are most surely believed among us. (Lk 1:3, Eph 4:14)
